I will teach you and your dog alternative behaviours that work by implementing management strategies to reduce your dog’s reactions to triggers.
We’ll also offer positive based reward training that does not add to your dog’s fear but will help reduce his big feelings and increase his confidence.
You will also receive extensive support through this program so you don’t feel alone.
During our time together, we will explain different management options that suit your specific home / family / situation and we’ll teach your dog alternative behaviours and coping mechanisms using pattern games and positive reinforcement.
Depending on the severity of the reactivity, we will determine the best number of sessions required as reducing ‘big feelings’ and learning isn’t linear and there is no time limit to reduce your dog’s big emotions.
We will also only go at the pace of your dog to ensure we don’t put him over his threshold.
As we work through the 6 or 8 weeks, we will schedule ‘field trips’ to apply what your dog has learned to real life situations, and, of course, always keeping him at a distance so he can cope.
