Did You Know That The Adolescent Phase For Your Dog Can Last Somewhere Between 2 & 3 Years?

This phase can start at five months old and during this time, it’s completely normal to see big emotions, selective hearing, testing boundaries, and skills that seem to disappear overnight. Your dog isn’t being stubborn! They’re growing, learning, and navigating a rapidly changing brain and body.

If training suddenly feels harder, you’re not doing anything wrong. Adolescence brings hormonal changes, brain development, and increased independence. With the right support, this stage becomes an opportunity to build resilience, trust, and real-life skills.

Your investment is $200 (plus HST). In this 6-week training course (at 50 minutes per class):

Your Dog Will Learn To:

Maintain and strengthen previously learned cues and behaviours from our Puppy Starter Skills class
Improve focus and self-control, even in highly distracting environments
Manage and redirect jumping, pulling, and other attention-seeking behaviours
Communicate clearly with your dog using positive, practical strategies
Build confidence and resilience for your to handle “big feelings” without stress
How to relax and settle, even after play

You (The Human) Will Learn To:

Set realistic goals and expectations for your adolescent dog
Understand your dog’s body language to know what they are ‘saying’ & appropriately respond
Troubleshoot & support typical adolescent typical problem behaviours
Understand your dog’s fear periods and how to support them
Develop & implement management strategies
Meet your dog's species-specific needs
Manage the environment to set your dog up for success
